The Conservatory

Stunning and Vibrant

Several times throughout the year, our famed Conservatory is transformed into a seasonally relevant showcase of inspiring art, colorful flora and intricate decorative elements. Our talented Horticulture and Engineering teams help build and maintain the 15,000 square foot space that offers unique, breathtaking displays throughout the year. Our teams replant and repurpose as much of the living plant material as possible, further celebrating Mother Nature and our commitment to sustainability.

An Homage to the DMV

March 20 - November 16

MGM National Harbor introduces its newest conservatory display as a tribute to the vibrant landscapes and cultural legacies of Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia, three vibrant regions that are collectively known as the DMV.

Join us as we explore the timeless treasures that define our beloved Mid-Atlantic region and influence the culture of our property on a daily basis. Begin your exploration with an homage to the nation's capital, where you'll witness the beauty of cherry blossoms as they surround our towering 40-foot replica of the Washington Monument. Next, delve into Maryland's heritage as you encounter a charming model of the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse, nestled among blooming Black-eyed Susans and a symbolic blue crab. Finally, immerse yourself in Virginia's history and natural wonders, where a majestic 30-foot rendition of the Cape Henry Lighthouse stands tall alongside a graceful cardinal in flight.

Explore the Rich Tapestry of Each Region

Maryland
Embrace the rich culture of Maryland! Find a model of Maryland’s most-recognized lighthouse, Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse in nearby Annapolis, which has been active since 1875. The blooming Black-eyed Susans honor Maryland’s state flower and are situated next to the blue crab, perhaps the Chesapeake Bay’s most famous inhabitant.
Washington D.C.
Take a stroll through the nation's capital and enjoy the city’s iconic cherry blossoms. MGM National Harbor’s version of the Washington Monument stands at 40 feet tall. The real Washington Monument, completed in 1888, soars to a height of 555 feet! If you look up, you may notice the aluminum cap on the top of our Washington Monument replica; you’ll find the same one at the top of the actual monument.
Virginia
Experience Virginia’s charm with a stunning 30-foot-tall replica of the Cape Henry Lighthouse near Virginia Beach. The original Cape Henry Lighthouse was authorized by George Washington as the nation’s first federal construction project, while the updated version you see today was completed in 1881. The flying cardinal is a nod to Virginia’s official state bird.
